One Society Salon
One Society in Northville, Michigan
Owned by Kelly Sesi
First design element that gives a strong image of One Society Salon is the front desk and back wall of the entrance. My interior designer, Leslie McGwire ASID Allied knew the importance of the entrance for my clients. Once the clients enter the salon/spa, they walk straight in to a beautiful soft charcoal leather desk with a high-end surface on top of the counter. The dark charcoal leather goes beautifully with the herringbone tile floor. The white in the ledger stonewall behind the desk glitters like small diamonds. The very white neon light that is the logo gives the wall a pop and the clients really can focus in on seeing the logo in an understated way due to the white color of the neon sign.
The second design feature that makes One Society Salon so special is when clients walk back into the styling area they see the most ornate large mirrors that are white in color for the styling stations. The walls are a very soft gray color, so the white on the mirrors looks just stunning. The very unique clear acrylic styling chair balances the modern sleek feeling of the chair to the artistic European mirrors. The balance of both design styles working together is outstanding.
The third design feature that makes the salon so different and special is the “color bar.” The area is open for the clients to see, but with much thought in the designing of the bar the stainless steel workstation is sunken down so the clients sitting at the bar to process everything always looks clean and organized. The “wow factor” of the color bar is the birch wood material that goes all the way up to the very tall ceiling about 14 feet high. The organic touch of the birch wood goes so perfectly with the other colors and design elements of the surroundings.
