There’s a new kid on the block. The “block” is Montana Avenue in Santa Monica, California. Close enough to the ocean to smell the salty air, Montana is a casually upscale stretch of street, lined with the type of chic shops and cafes frequented by the style-savvy locals who reside in this sunny community.
The “kid” is Dermalogica Montana, a 1,700-square-foot, street level flagship salon, conceived and created by Dermalogica founder Jane Wurwand and her colleagues. From the huge front window that actually opens onto the street, to the “let’s-hang-out” vibe of the reception area, to the globular treatment pods, Dermalogica Montana aims to put a completely new spin on skin care.
“We really wanted to make this place fun, energetic and non-intimidating,” explains Wurwand. “We wanted the experience to be about escapism.”
The escape begins the moment clients walk through the front door.
